Mommy and Me Ministries was founded in 2018 by Stephanie Miller who is now Stephanie Miller-Henderson. Although the organization was incorporated in March of 2019, the vision of this work surfaced early on. Mommy and Me Ministries, Inc. provides mentorship, counseling and travel abroad opportunities for youth and their caregivers impacted by gun violence and the incarceration of their mother. These services include regularly scheduled group sessions and mentoring sessions as well as summer civic engagement programming. The specific objectives and purpose of this organization shall be:
 

a. to pair youth who have an incarcerated mother with an organization approved
mentor;
b. to provide support group services to youth and their caregivers to help cope
with the traumatic experience of gun violence and incarceration;
c. to provide opportunities for participants to engage in service learning,
volunteerism and charity by way of fundraising and giving drives for prison
nursery programs
d. to sponsor, host and/or participate in events and activities that promote
awareness of the rise in female incarceration and the youth that are
impacted by it.

Vashaune Lee,

SECRETARY

Vashaune Lee is a product of the Chicago Public School system where she went to both Elementary and High School. She continued her education at Western Illinois University where she studied in Communications.

Vashaune has worked in various areas of law enforcement for over 7 years and is in the public service industry to help improve others through compassion whenever possible.

Vashaune is married to her husband of 15 years and have 4 beautiful children ranging from ages 7 months to 16 years old. Her favorite book is by Mathew Syed called "Black Box Thinking" which talks about how to learn from past failures to create a better future through lessons learned. She has a passion for people, especially those that are considered forgotten.
